Love Offering

Weekly gentle community yoga class offered in partnership with the Austin Chapter of the Tamilnadu Foundation.

About the Teacher: Manju Govindarajan is a yoga instructor with 20 years of personal practice. Upon graduating with a Masters in Electrical Engineering, she discovered yoga while working for a research firm in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2004. At first, she practiced twice a week purely for fun but within months, she was practicing daily.

In 2014, after a decade of working in data analyst roles in Charlotte and Dallas, she moved to India to be a full time caregiver. During that time, she enrolled in a 500 hour teacher training program with Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM), Chennai, India, to deepen her practice. KYM was established in 1976 and serves as a premier yoga institute, with its teachings spanning a wide range of topics including Yoga Philosophy, Pranayama, Ayurveda, Psychology and Vedic chanting.

Upon graduating from KYM, Manju moved to the US and made Austin her home. She started teaching gentle/moderate style of yoga in the KYM tradition since 2017. Her teaching style stays true to respecting one's body for what it is and striving for balance between body, breath and mind. She lives in North Austin with her husband and two girls and enjoys reading, working out, ping pong, gardening and volunteering.

This class is open to the community on a Love Offering basis. Beginners are welcome and are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes prior to the beginning of class. Please bring a yoga mat and a bottle of water to support your practice.
